2005 - In Your Honour

The biggest Foo album, in terms of the amount of songs. It is the first album to feature two discs in the standard release - the second being entirely acoustic songs. The progression of Foo Fighters into a slightly more mellow/acoustic sound led to the Skin and Bones tour of 2006, which itself spawned an album. The first single 'Best of You' was their first to reach platinum in the US, and is the bands highest chart song.
Released in June 2005, the album has 5 singles.

2002 - One by One

Foo's Fourth, and the first to feature guitarist Chris Shifflet.
Although the album received mostly positive ratings, Grohl admitted that this was his least favorite album: "Four of the songs were good, and the other seven I never played again in my life. We rushed into it, and we rushed out of it."
Several versions of the album were released, including a European edition with a bonus disc, iTunes/Limited Edition, and a Special Edition with a DVD. The main album was released in October 2002, and had 4 singles.

1999 - There Is Nothing Left to Lose
The third Foo Fighters album, and one of their most acclaimed, even by Grohl himself. There had been a slight change in the band prior to recording the album, as Franz Stahl had left due to artistic differences. In terms of sound, the album differs from the first two releases - using lighter fills and effects, contrary to the distinct grunge sound the Foo's had been known for. The album was released in November 1999 and had 5 singles.

The Colour and the Shape
The second Foo Fighters album, but the first recorded as a band. The album sold over 2 million copies in the US, and was nominated for 5 VMA's and a Grammy. Dave's original concept for the album was about the beginning and end of a relationship. During the recording of the album, Grohl's own relationship with Jennifer Youngblood ended in divorce.
The album was released in May 1997, and had 4 singles.

1995 - Foo Fighters
The first album Dave Grohl released under the name Foo Fighters - a title which Dave used originally to keep his anonymity, and also to disguise that he was writing/recording the material himself. By the albums release, Dave had recruited two former members of Sunny Day Real Estate - bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith. He also asked former touring guitarist from Nirvana, Pat Smear to join and assist in Live Shows.
The album was released in July 1995, and spawned 6 singles.
